4 Years ago i was everything a girl like me would of dreamed of.
Not every 8 year old girl becomes a wizard strong enough to go to Marleybone one year later.
If i wasn't born in this world, i don't know what i would be doing.
I guess i got lucky.
~~~~~
I grew up with two of the strictest parents i have ever seen in wizard city.
My
mom, Beata Dartgem, was a very nice and kind lady. She loved cooking
and doing magic and wasn't like the rest of the wizards of her kind.
But then she married my Dad, Samuel Duskstorm, a cunning, strict, serious man.
My parents were two very different people, but they fell in love anyway. I guess opposites attract, right?
they did have one thing in common that they would let nobody interfere with.
They were both Conjurors, Wizards of myth.
These wizards were some of the toughest, in my opinion. Thier strongest quality was their magic.
Myth magic was a very hard thing to understand.
A few years later i was born on February 8th. Then my sister Vanessa came 3 years later on March 11th.
~~~~~
"Mommy! Daddy!! Im home!!"
"Hello sweetie!" My moms loving voice spoke.
My dad was too busy to say hi. He never says hi. Hes too busy studying.
"I have my entrance exam!"
My
mom gasped and started jumping for joy. My dads tough as nails look
diddnt change, but he turned around in his chair. "Oh my goodness!! You
passed!! Please, let me see it!!"
I ran to my bag and pulled out the fragile paper. I handed it to my mom.
My 3 year old sister at the time was waddling around and playing with her dolls.
My mom carefully unwrapped the ribbon tied around the thin, rice colored paper.
My dad came over to see then.
When she opened up the slip of paper and started reading, the most unexpected thing happened.
Thier faces went from extreme joy and hard as coal, to both in udder shock.
My mom dropped the paper.
"What?!?" i said in my little 7-year-old voice.
My moms face stayed shocked. It was my dads face that changed this time.
But his face wanst happy.
His face was enraged.
"Dear parents," he began to read the exam paper in his rough voice.
"Your daughter has ben accepted into Ravenwood school. Your daughter will be enrolled in----"
he stopped. "...The school of...STORM!?!?!?!"
Now i understood.
Remember how i said my parents were very serious about being myth wizards?
Well, i turned out to be in the opposite of that.I
was put in the school of storm. Storm and Myth magic dont go very well.
"RYLEE BLAIR DUSKSTORM!!" My dad was yelling now. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE GOTTEN YOURSELF INTO?!?!"
"..N-No, dad!! I-"
"I..
ugh. I cant believe how you could get into-- ugh, the school of storm.
That incapable Ambrose...." He slammed his on the floor.
Then he ran into the other room with my mother.
I just stood there. "
"Rylee?" My little sister said.
I diddnt say anything. I was just confused.
Well, im not anymore. I know why mom and dad did what they did.
A few minutes later They came out with two big suitcases.
"Rylee Duskstorm, Vanessa Duskstorm, Both of you! Go to your room right now!"
"Dad, what did i-""
"ENOUGH!!!" His face was on fire with anger. My mom was crying a little. "TO YOUR ROOM!! IMMEDIATELY!!"
My mom ran over to give me a kiss, but my dad stopped her. He took her hand and pulled her back.
Me and Vanessa went to our room.
After that we heard the front door slam shut.
That was the last time i ever saw my parents.
"Rylee!!!" My sister was crying."
"Vanessa, shhhhh." i hugged her. "Its ok"
She cuddled with me."Ok, if you say so, its gonna be ok. I love you, Rylee."
I wish i diddnt lie to her.
I stopped hugging and went back to the room where all that chaos happened.
My parents were gone,
but my exam was still on the floor.
